If you are
looking for a comfortable place to settle down, look no further than
Valley Village. Valley Village is the perfect place to raise a
family. The homes are gorgeous and the weather is perfect all year
round.
Valley Village
is a beautiful city within the San Fernando Valley. Located north of
Studio City, East of Sherman Oaks and south of North Hollywood, Valley Village
is a quiet, quaint community right outside the city life.
Valley Village
is only a five minute drive from Burbank. Hollywood, Hollywood
Hills, West Hollywood, and Beverly Hills are also only 15-20 minutes
from Valley Village. Getting to Downtown LA is an easy 25 minute
drive. Valley Village has access to several great freeway systems,
such as the 101, 170, 5, and 134. This makes traveling easy, no
matter where your destination is.
Community
With only 22,000
residents, Valley Village
is a close-knit community. Valley Village has two main organizations
– the Valley Village Homeowners Association and the Neighborhood
Council of Valley Village. Both organizations work closely with the
politicians to ensure community safety and better living.
Some examples of
community involvement are holiday parades, Garden Tours,
Neighborhood Watch, and Night Out Against Crime.
The Studio City’s
Farmer Market is open year round on Sunday mornings. This farmer’s
market is a local attraction with its fresh goods and offers fun for
the kids with pony rides, face-painting, and a bounce house.
Education
Education is the
most important aspect to think about when choosing a neighborhood
for your family. Valley Village
has several schools to choose from only minutes away.
Colfax Charter
Elementary has a wonderful music and arts program. All
kindergartners and first grade students learn violin, while second
through fifth grade students learn to play keyboard and read sheet
music to help them with their math skills. They also have a special
education program and gifted and talented program to help all
students excel at their own pace.
Oakwood Secondary school
is a private summer school rooted in the creative arts. Their
curriculum is developed around music, art, and theater to heighten
children’s’ skills.
Walter Reed
Middle School is a distinguished middle school that offers
specialized programs, such as culinary arts and technology training.
They also offer a calculus and are the only middle school to offer
Advanced Physics. Walter Reed
Middle School also has an active parent body.
Just for fun,
scenes from Transformers, Joe Dirt, The Shaggy Dog, CSI, and 7th
Heaven were filmed here. Actress Rachel Bilson and other notable
figures also graduated from Walter Reed
Middle School.
Newsweek named North Hollywood High School
one of the top 200 high schools in America.
They have an excellent Magnet program for highly gifted students.
The Los Angeles
Community College is only a few minutes away. This community college
offers affordable education in several different fields.
Entertainment
Universal Studios
and Universal City Walk are less than five miles away from Valley
Village. Universal Studios is an incredible amusement park centered
around popular movies. Guests can plunge down the Jurassic Park
ride, watch the World of Shrek in 4-D, or take a Studio Tour and see
behind the scenes of famous movies and upcoming movies.
Inside City Walk,
there is an eight-story IMAX theater with 19 large screens. City
Walk is also the home of the Gibson Amphitheater, which hosts
amazing concerts and shows. Have a laugh at Jon Lovitz Comedy Club.
This comedy club offers live stand-up comedy, gourmet food, and a
casual tropical décor. Another fun stop is Jillian’s dine and bowl
rock-n-roll bowling alley.
Shopping
Whether you would
like to make a quick trip to the grocery store or spend a day
shopping for clothes, Valley
Village is surrounded by several stores.
Sherman
Oaks Fashion Square has over 100 stores ranging from luxurious items
such as Coach and J.Crew to affordable fashion like Forever 21.
City Walk is a
very unique to shop at with over 30 stores. Some fun stores include
the Los Angeles Sock Market, Upstart Crow (ultimate Hollywood
souvenir shop), Magnet Max, and Thing From Another World (a comic
and sci-fi fan’s dream come true).
Recreation
North Hollywood Recreation
Center has an auditorium, indoor and outdoor baseball diamonds,
tennis courts, handball courts, and a large playground. A few
smaller parks are also nearby for you and your family to relax at
and enjoy local events.
Valley Village
